Instant preview feature introduced for Google search

Google is constantly updating its services to try and make them a little easier and more convenient for its users. The company is well aware that online search has to constantly adapt to the way people use the internet in order to stay ahead and offer the best service possible.

Google Instant was launched this year, representing a significant step forward in terms of search time and this service has already been updated. Google has installed a new feature into its search platform that will enable users to see an instant preview of their search results without moving away from the page they are on.

The feature is known as Google Instant Previews and it offers a graphical summary of the results their search will yield. The idea is to help users to better hone their searches to get the results they are looking for. The preview will show them how closely related to their query their potential results are.

Google Instant Previews can be accessed by clocking on a magnifying glass icon next to their search results. An overview of results will then appear. In a statement supporting the new addition, Google said:

In our testing, we’ve found that people who use Instant Previews are about 5 per cent more likely to be satisfied with the results they click. The previews provide new ways to evaluate search results, making you more likely to find what you’re looking for on the pages you visit.
